What is an Own Damage Claim?
A claim towards loss or damages sustained by your vehicle in an accident on your own policy with comprehensive coverage.
Your NCD (No Claims Discount) is forfeited when you make this claim.
Only cover damages to your vehicle specified in Policy, excluding compensations such as compensation of assessed repair time unless you have extension coverage on CART.
Who can make an Own Damage Claim?
Only valid for comprehensive motor insurance policyholders
Own Damage Claim
Call customer service 24 hours toll free hotline to notify your Insurance Panel of the accident.
- Send your vehicle only to “Our Insurance Panel Workshop” for immediate attention.
- Please contact them immediately for assistance if you need to know the names of panel workshops or to confirm if any is or is not in our Panel.
- In order to get prompt attention to your claim, please collect the Claim Form from them and return the same to them duly completed and signed together with the relevant documents as stated hereunder:
- Claim Form.
- Original Police Report.
- Repairer’s Estimate of damages.
- Copies of:
- Policy/Cover note.
- Vehicle Registration Card.
- Your Identity Card and Driving License.
- Your driver’s Identity Card and Driving License.
- Your Hire Purchase Agreement.
You are advised to submit your claim with full documentation as prescribed above direct to the Head Office or any of their Branch Offices, as soon as possible.
Third Party Property Damage Claim
If you intend to make a third party claim:
- Notify the other driver and/or owner who were involved in the road accident with your insured vehicle in writing about your intention to make insurance claim against him. In addition, state that you hold him responsible, and ask him to notify his insurer;
- Appoint a licensed adjuster to inspect your insured vehicle and thereafter provide you with their loss assessment/report; and
- If you do not have the other driver’s contact information, you may conduct a search at Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan / Road Transport Department based on the vehicle’s registration number to identify the insurer of the Third Party vehicle (“TP Insurer”).
- Submit the following documents to TP Insurer to facilitate your claim:
- Police report;
- Police sketch plan and key;
- Police investigation report;
- Adjuster’s report together with photographs of damaged insured vehicle;
- Original bill and receipt issued by the adjuster for their services;
- Copy of your own vehicle insurance policy; and
- Copy of your identity card, driving license and vehicle registration card.
Tip 1: Remember to take photos on the accident area, both cars damages (third party vehicle and yours) and their vehicle registration number.
Thief Claim
You are to lodge a police report immediately upon knowledge of the loss.
- Please render your full cooperation to the Adjuster/Investigator or Company personnel who may be appointed to conduct the investigations into the theft.
- Please note that in the event the vehicle is recovered, you are to notify your insurance panel immediately of the same as it is important that they reinstate your policy, which will be cancelled automatically upon notification of the theft.
- You are to complete the Claim Form, which can be collected from any of their offices and return the same to them duly completed and signed together with all the relevant documents; as outlined in the own damage claim section above.
Windscreen Cover
If you are making a claim under your windscreen cover, please enclose the following documents:
- Claim Form.
- Photos of Damaged Windscreen.
- Copies of
- Registration Card.
- Insured’s Identity Card
- Driver’s Identity Card
- Insurance Policy/Cover note
- Photos of repaired Windscreen
- If. Cash Bill / Final Bill
